After a warm welcome from our lovely staff, and host and owner Jen, you’ll be seated and can enjoy the traditional English Tearoom where the atmosphere is cosy, the tea is flowing, and the decor is inspired by Agatha Christie’s most famous character, Miss Marple.
When we take your order, there’s not an ipad in sight. We like to do things the old fashioned way here and all our staff love to meet the customers and make their time here memorable. That’s why people keep coming back.
Sit and relax in our vibrant and cosy English Tearoom, where memories of yesteryear come to life in the warm inviting setting. We provide old fashioned hospitality with hearty home cooked food. It’s a true nostalgic experience.
Jam or cream first? It’s a Miss Marple unsolved mystery. We say spread your jam then add a dollop of beautiful whipped cream. It’s truly criminal!
When you come to Miss Marple’s English Tearoom you’ll be wowed by our famous scones. Big, beautiful and served with fresh whipped cream and homemade raspberry jam. Why not make Sundays, or any day, scone days?
Build lasting memories at Miss Marple. We’re so proud that generations of families have been coming together for afternoon tea since we opened the doors in 1992. Come and enjoy laughter and chatter over tea and scones under the gaze of Miss Marple’s observant eye.
‘I think my dear we won’t talk any more about murder during tea; such an unpleasant subject’

“All dishes are amazing but our favourites are fish and chips plus sticky toffee pudding. Scones and shakes are really good and massive in size but the sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce on top..oh ..there’s amazing and then there’s spectacular!!!
If around, do the hike from Olinda to Sassafras too..gorgeous!”
“The food was absolutely delicious. We had the pumpkin soup. It was so so yum. Then, of course, a sweet treat of Devonshire tea, which was huge! So yummy, though, and it’s totally worth it. The service was impeccable, the owner had fantastic people skills and made all of her customers feel welcome. It was very busy as usual, so we had to wait 25 minutes. There are plenty of cute shops to explore in while you wait though so we absolutely did not mind….
“It’s been over 10 years since I was last in Melbourne and able to plan a visit to Miss Marples. And this visit did not disappoint. The Ploughmans Lunch was as delicious as ever, and the Scones accompanied by Yorkshire Tea was simply delightful! Just as good as I remember and I’m so glad we made time for a visit. Staff were great and friendly too!”
“All staffs of Miss Marple’s Tearoom were nice and friendly kind. Scone set was tasty and a cup of coffee was great and this Tearoom’s atmosphere is very antique and lovely. If you visit in Sassafras Village of Melbourne, I recommend you to visit this place absolutely.”
“It’s a nice day to make a stop at Miss Marple’s Tearoom! Their ambience are really unique with a vintage theme. The highlight of the Tearoom will be their sundae ice cream as it tastes really good. The strawberry jam and chocolate are the best combination.”
“Very warm and inviting atmosphere! Can’t think of anything negative, everything was above and beyond. The staff are very warm and welcoming and the food and drinks are great. The deserts are fairly big so best to share one between two people. We will be back again!”
“Miss Marple’s Tearoom takes you back to the 70’s era. It’s a perfect place to visit especially during winter and enjoy amazing ambiences, delicious food and mesmerizing desserts. If you are a dessert lover please try the Chocolate and Pecan Fudge cake.”
“Excellent location for tea and fingers, desserts or any combination. Family friendly menu and superior service and awesome atmosphere surrounded by Miss Marple pictures and lovely and unique teapots. Highly recommended!”
